Brief in English:
Wednesday was a seminar with different commissioning-related programs that supportted sustainable urban development.
The meeting was held at the McCormick Place, the site that also houses a huge exhibition of HVAC&R equipment, AHR Expo.
The topics of the seminar were not very advanced compared to our work, but it could probably be useful in the US. We are talking about using day-degree compensations on cooling and energy labelling, Energy Star, that is not related to the actual energy consumption, but more to the proper function of the installed machinery. This is more commissioning than sustainability in my world.
There is also a European parallel to the Energy Star, but it was not discussed further.

Ahr Expo is so huge that it is not to judge where to start or finish. I went for a peek, saw that there were various high-gloss polished up machinery ranging from giant chillers to little pumps, estimated that I probably did not have the extra week in Chicago, was required to look at this, and went back .

It is strange that there is such a huge amount of sophisticated equipment available, and that the equipment that actually is actually installed often functions badly.
- But it is probably precisely why they are ahead of us developing commissioning services, the market is huge.
